Give me a break... Daniel Dennett announces that Plato,St Thomas Aquinas, Dante, Michelangelo, Pascal or Georges Lemaitre spent their life on a folly? Well, even from a pure intellect point of view the comparison does not encourage confidence in his credentials.
It is my understanding that some of them did not spend their time on what D.D. christens as folly. Particularly Plato ;). Also, the art has value of its own, so artists, architects, and writers do not belong here. The part of your life spent on faith is spent on folly. Is it more acceptable?
